The Toronto Centre Young Liberals (TCYL) are a dynamic and fun group of youth representing the federal and provincial ridings of Toronto Centre. TCYL is an accredited riding club with the Ontario Young Liberals (OYL) and the Young Liberals of Canada.
Located in downtown Toronto, the riding of Toronto Centre is one of the most diverse and unique in Canada where new Canadians from all parts of the world live here. Our community has a high number of university-educated residences, with thousands students in the riding attending Ryerson University, U of T, George Brown, and two large high schools.
Toronto Centre is also proudly home to the most prominent gay and lesbian community in Canada. There are many vibrant communities in Toronto Centre such as: St. Lawrence, Regent Park, Cabbagetown, St. Jamestown, the Distillery District, Moss Park, Moore Park, condos on Bay Street, and Rosedale, where there are families of all shapes and sizes, with hundreds of spoken languages and cultures.
The Toronto Centre Young Liberals are involved in creating and advocating policies that can make a difference to the community, including policies on social housing and Canada’s position on foreign affairs. We help to make a positive contribution to the community, holding social events and community fundraising events throughout the year. Of course, we also volunteer for election campaigns in Toronto Centre and work closely with our two excellent federal and provincial representatives: the Hon. Bob Rae and the Hon. Glen Murray.
