1) Ontario Liberal Party AGM
- The OLP AGM is scheduled for the weekend of October 15th and is taking place in Toronto. If you would like to attend and be a delegate to the AGM, please send TCYL President, Denise Lam, an email as soon as possible in order to reserve your spot (denise@tcyl.ca). This will be an exciting weekend for voting, policy discussion, and meeting new friends and Liberal colleagues. All are encouraged and welcome to come!
2) Ontario Young Liberals Summer Fling Re-Cap

From the weekend of August 13-15th, a record contingent of 17 Toronto Centre Young Liberals attended the annual OYL Summer Fling policy conference. Taking place at Queen’s University in Kingston this year, we all had a great time discussing policy with young Liberals across the province. The two policies we brought forward this year passed on the provincial level; congratulations to policy authors Gloria Lee and Adlan Taramov for their resolutions on increasing funding for Legal Aid Ontario and neighbourhood revitalization. This was also our fourth consecutive year being voted Best Riding Club by our peers in the Ontario Young Liberals. Congratulations also go out to our TCYL President Denise Lam for being voted Outstanding OYL Executive Member for the second year in a row for her terms as Treasurer on the OYL executive board. Thanks to all TCYLers who made it out to Summer Fling!
3) George Smitherman Campaign for Mayor
- As we quickly approach the municipal election day on October 25th, we need as many people coming out and helping former Toronto Centre MPP George Smitherman in his campaign for Mayor. For the next few weeks, if you can commit any time to volunteering on George’s campaign, please contact: info@georgesmitherman.ca and see his website: http://www.georgesmitherman.ca
There will also be a youth canvass this coming Saturday, Sept. 25th and George will be meeting us starting at 10:30am at the campaign office located at 66 The Esplanade (Esplanade/Church). For more details about this Saturday’s youth canvass, please check out the Facebook group
4) Next TCYL Meeting
- We have scheduled our next TCYL meeting for Saturday, Sept. 25th after the George Smitherman youth canvass at 5:30pm. The meeting will take place at the Ryerson Student Centre located at Church and Gould (map: http://tinyurl.com/367r5kk). We will be discussing our past and future initiatives, fundraising, and our upcoming TCYL AGM. Please let us know if you are able to make it: info@tcyl.ca
