1) Provincial By-Election Update
The Toronto Centre provincial by-election is underway and we have a fantastic candidate representing us – Glen Murray! Many TCYLers have been canvassing everyday, but we need your help. If you can spare a couple of hours a day, please drop by Glen’s campaign office at 366 Bloor St. East (at Sherbourne subway station; northwest corner of Bloor/Sherbourne) to help with canvassing or making phone calls.
This Saturday, January 23rd, there will be a large contingent of Young Liberals coming from across the province for a meet-and-greet with Glen, followed by an afternoon canvass. Please join us at 11am for this special event! You can find the Facebook event group here: http://bit.ly/7UVRi5

2) Upcoming Events
It is time for one of TCYL’s favourite annual events of the year — Ontario Model Parliament (OMP)! OMP is a signature event hosted by the Ontario Young Liberals, where youth from all over Ontario come to Queen’s Park to simulate an average day for a Member of Provincial Parliament. We will have caucus meetings, undergo Question Period, and hear from special guest speakers. In order to register and/or sign up for a cabinet minister position, please send an email to: modelparliament2010@gmail.com before Sunday, Jan. 24th. The day after Model Parliament will be OYL on ICE, an annual policy forum for young Liberals to come together and discuss issues which affect us and matter to us the most. 3) George Smitherman Mayoral Campaign
As most of you are aware, former Toronto Centre MPP George Smitherman has officially filed for his candidacy to be the next Mayor of Toronto. The Toronto Centre Young Liberals deeply appreciate all of the support he George has given us throughout the years and this is our chance to help give back!
